VALENCIA is just a step away from winning best tourism video with a production promoting the Route of the Holy Grail.
For those who don’t already know, Valencia cathedral is home to THE Holy Grail. Yes, that’s right, the mythical chalice used by Christ at the Last Supper, which has been sought by knights and kings down the ages, caused blood to be spilt and lives to be lost. It should, however, be noted that there are many other pretenders who claim to house the true Holy Grail, but ask any Valencian and they’ll confirm that theirs is the genuine article.
But, returning to 2021, the promotional video tantalizes viewers with the story of the grail’s journey and how it came to rest in Valencia. By following the Route of the Holy Grail you too can learn the true story, experience the journey of those who brought the cup to Valencia centuries ago.
The video, which is currently in second place in the public voting, shows an Indiana Jones-style character following the trail from Jerusalem with an old map, while we are told details of the ancient relic he’s searching for. The traveller then arrives at the medieval gates of Valencia on horseback before dismounting outside the city’s cathedral where he is finally able to see the Holy Grail with his own eyes.
