The three field hospitals set up in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia during the pandemic to ease pressure on health services are to close at the end of 2021.
Valencia president, Ximo Puig, announced the change yesterday during his visit to the closure of the City of Arts and Sciences vacunodromo, as part of the closing of the mass vaccination centres.
Until the end of the year, the hospitals will be available to health services “for any eventuality” due to their locations alongside the main hospitals of each province.
Meanwhile, in-person appointments are back at local health centres and with medical specialists from Monday 4 October. Of course all the necessary Covid-19 precautions of facemasks, hand gel and social distancing will need to be in observed. The option of telephone appointments could also be used in combination when considered “useful and necessary”, Puig said.
